Have you ever let a workflow run overnight, only to find your computer went to sleep halfway through? Or maybe you wanted to know right away if something went wrong while you weren’t watching. These are the kinds of situations where the Settings panel in Octoparse AI makes all the difference.

To open it, go to the client homepage, click your user avatar in the top-right corner, and select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Inside, you’ll find five sections—Account, General, Shortcuts, Exception Alert, and About. Each one gives you control over a different part of your experience.

When Should I Use Settings?

Think of Settings as your personal control center. Here are some real-life moments when it comes in handy:

  • Running bots overnight → Enable Screen Settings so your computer doesn’t go to sleep.

  • Catching problems right away → Turn on Exception Alerts to get an email if something fails.

  • Testing and debugging workflows → Set up keyboard shortcuts so you can pause, stop, or restart without breaking concentration.

  • Staying up to date → Use the About tab to check your version and install the latest updates.

What You’ll Find in Each Section

Account

Here you can keep your login details—username, email, and password—up to date and secure.

General

This is where you decide how Octoparse AI behaves on your device. For example, you can choose whether the app should launch at startup, or whether closing the window minimizes it to the tray or fully exits.

Most importantly, Screen Settings allow you to stop your computer from going to sleep and even automatically unlock the screen. If you often schedule bots or triggers, this ensures they won’t be interrupted.

Shortcuts

Testing or troubleshooting a workflow? Assign hotkeys here to quickly pause, stop, restart, or take a screenshot without breaking your flow.

Exception Alert

Want peace of mind when you’re not at your desk? Turn on Exception Alerts and enter your email address. If something goes wrong, you’ll get an immediate notification, so you don’t have to keep checking manually.

About

This section keeps you informed about your Octoparse AI version, system requirements, and available updates. You’ll also find links to the installation directory, Terms & Conditions, and Privacy Policy here.

The Settings panel is there to make Octoparse AI work the way you need it to. A few quick adjustments—like enabling Screen Settings or adding an Exception Alert—can save you from disruptions and give you peace of mind while your workflows run.
